Zen Shiatsu in Méribel

Shiatsu is a traditional hands-on Japanese healing therapy, it can help so many different conditions. It can help with symptoms such as a headache, insomnia, muscles spasms, digestive problems, anxiety and as well as many other general aspects of poor health. Shiatsu is first a deeply relaxing experience but it can also be a preventive tool against stress. Regular treatments can help strengthen the immune system, boost your energy levels and help maintain an optimum state of being.


A session

When you start with your first session, I will consider your health, the different symptoms you are experiencing and depending on your constitution and energy levels.

I will use a variety of techniques to increase your energy flow including the use of moxibustion, dynamic stretches and rotations enriched by Thai massage influence, gentle energy projection, connecting different part of the body - healing one part with the other.

Shiatsu practitioners work with palms, thumbs, fingers, elbows, knees, and feet right in the meridian they need to treat.As the quality of Ki changes, the symptoms associated with a lack of flow will gradually disappear.

The session generally takes place on a padded mat or futon at floor level for the grounding power of the earth although I personally also practice on a very comfortable massage coach at the Wellness centre of Aspen and with an ergonomic chair for companies and offices where it can be difficult to lie on the floor. In any case the client stays fully clothed.

A general after feel of increased vitality follows the treatment as the receiver let go of tensions and the flow of Ki is restored. You may feel invigorated or you may have to face your tiredness if it’s a long term condition.

Shiatsu doesn’t do miracles on a short term. It can give relief from a headache but the symptoms will come back if you don’t address the root of the issue. It could come from a lack of water, overuse of stimulants, or too much thinking, etc.
